About Us
We recognise the importance of being able to access a timely, holistic assessment of eating difficulties to fully understand the factors which drive the difficulties with eating. We offer tailored psychological treatments either directly, or indirectly via parents/carers, alongside risk monitoring and management of physical and nutritional health.
How we work together
Amy and Maxine have unique and overlapping skills that combine to make a successful partnership. They met whilst working together in a National and Specialist ARFID Service within the NHS. It was during this time that they discovered a joint passion for supporting those with eating difficulties and a shared goal of enabling wider access to good quality treatment. Together they setup the Specialist ARFID Service.
Amy and Maxine jointly oversee everyone from the point of referral and throughout treatment to ensure the highest quality of care. Even though you may only meet one of them, anyone seen by the Specialist ARFID Service will benefit from both Amy and Maxine’s expertise and knowledge.
Based on the information provided in the referral form, they work together to decide whether the Specialist ARFID Service can offer appropriate support, and which clinician would be best placed to offer this. Part of the assessment process involves Amy and Maxine meeting for 30 minutes to discuss one individual's assessment. This discussion considers what factors could be driving the difficulties with eating, whether diagnostic criteria is met, and the treatment recommendations. Throughout treatment both Maxine and Amy meet regularly to discuss, plan and review progress.
