Terms & Conditions
The information outlined in this document details the terms and conditions of assessment and treatment from the Specialist ARFID Service Ltd. We would advise that you read these in full prior to your initial appointment and will ask that you confirm you have read them upon completion of a referral to our Service. By confirming you have read the terms and conditions, you are agreeing to abide by them.

Who we are and what we do:
We are the Specialist ARFID Service Ltd (company number: 15727022) registered to 85 Great Portland Street, London W1W 7LT.

We offer assessment and treatment for children, young people and their families as well as adults who may be experiencing difficulties with eating and may meet diagnostic threshold for Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID).
​
The clinical interview aspect of our assessment process lasts up to 90 minutes, whilst the feedback appointment at the end of our assessment process last 30minutes.
​
Treatment appointments are 50 minutes in length.
Payment:
Please be aware that Specialist ARFID Service Ltd are not currently accepting private healthcare insurance payments and can only offer self-funded assessments and treatment.
Fees:
Fees for the assessment and treatment will have been communicated to you prior to your first session and are non-negotiable.

Assessments are charged at £600 without dietetic input and £700 with dietetic input from Clare Thornton-Wood.

Treatment sessions (50 mins) are charged at £150
​
Brief letters are charged at £150.
​
For more extensive reports or professional liaison, charges will be discussed and agreed on in advance of your appointment.
How payments are made:
Assessments: BACS details will be sent to you on booking your assessment. We take a 10% non-refundable deposit to secure your assessment slot. Full payment is due 48 hours in advance of your appointment.

Treatment: Following an assessment, any further treatment appointments will require you to make a full payment 48 hours in advance, via BACS.
​
Payments: should be made by electronic bank transfer using the invoice number as reference.
Missed and cancelled appointments:
Therapeutic work will have maximum impact if cancellations from both clinician and client can be kept to a minimum. ​
Missed appointments or those cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice will be charged the full cost of the session. If you have not joined the session 15 minutes from the pre-agreed time, we will attempt to contact you via telephone. If unable to make contact, the session will be considered a missed appointment.

We also reserve the right to charge a fee to hold your appointment time, in the event of ongoing cancellations.
Sessions cancelled by Specialist ARFID Service Ltd
On occasions, we may have to cancel the session at short notice (e.g. due to ill health). In such circumstances, you will not be required to make payment, and any payment already made will be refunded to you or can be used as payment for your next session.
Appointment Format:
Our sessions will be held online via Microsoft Teams with the link sent to you in advance of the agreed date/time. We will make every attempt to start treatment on time. If there are any exceptional and unavoidable delays on the part of the clinician, we will contact you as soon as we possibly can.

If you require sessions in person, please discuss this with us as we may be able to arrange this for an additional cost.
Confidentiality:
Clinicians working within the Specialist ARFID Service Ltd will be registered with their relevant professional body and will have had a valid DBS certificate. Clinicians will be required to uphold their professional standards as per their professional body at all times.

Where we have been instructed by you and consent has been given for us to contact professionals outside the Specialist ARFID Service Ltd, we will share information on a need-to-know basis to enable effective care/treatment. All liaison work will incur a fee and we will discuss this with you in advance.
Marketing:
We will not contact you for marketing purposes, but we may share details of workshops we are offering which may be relevant to your treatment. If you do not wish to receive this information, please let us know by emailing admin@arfidservice.com
Risk:
If you or a member of the Specialist ARFID Service Ltd have concerns about physical or mental health for yourself or your child, please seek support via your GP, 111, 999 or attendance at A&E.
Some physical symptoms that might indicate the need for immediate contact with a medical professional include: no oral intake for 24 hours, dizziness, fainting, lethargy, confusion or breathlessness. Further advice and guidance on physical and mental health concerns can be found on the NHS website.
Contact outside of sessions:
We would ask that you hold questions regarding your/your child’s care/treatment until your next appointment where possible. If this is likely to limit treatment progress, we would advise that you email your clinician and copy in admin@arfidservice.com
Please be aware that none of Specialist ARFID Service Ltd emails are monitored full time and there may be a delay in us getting back to you. If you have more urgent concerns, please follow the above Risk information.

Clinicians within the Specialist ARFID Service Ltd are not permitted to make contact with you via social media.
